It’s Summer and Time for Fun in the Sun For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, July means summer and lots of blue skies and warm days. In Canada and in the United States, July also brings festivities with Canada Day and Independence Day, both of which include many outdoor activities, including picnics, so…
Category: For the Family
Family Oriented
With so many things today no being for the family, I do my best to have several things family appropriate… though I do have some snarky mom moments, my blog is geared toward life with children.
I have many posts, some are recipes, some are about homeschooling, some are crafts, and some are just for fun. Here are a few of my favorites.
When Valentine’s Day hits, we love making these bookmark valentines. They are fun, cute, and useful. Our Little Library is a fun post and project. I recommend reading it and even building one. Even my post on how to invest your pocket change is great because saving for a rainy day is something not everyone does anymore.
Check back for more posts and some that you hopefully love! Feel free to leave comments or head over to my Facebook Page or Instagram page to see more.
A Time to be Thankful
It’s Thanksgiving… It’s that time of year where everyone talks about the things that they are thankful for. November seems to bring it out in us, it’s a time to be thankful. Being thankful can, in general, be hard… especially for adults. It’s hard to be thankful when your fridge is on its last legs,…
Our Positive Rock Garden
Spread The Love A few years ago, our community had positive rocks introduced… and it quickly became a phenomenon. Many communities had this happen and the concept was called different things, but in our community, Positive Rocks became a big hit. The Idea I have heard that this idea was created by many individuals, but…
Best Blueberry Pie Recipe
It’s Blueberry Season It’s blueberry season again, my kids just went with friends to do some blueberry picking and it reminds me of my first blueberry pie. Want Some Pie? So, here’s a funny story. I have always hated pie. If offered pie, I’d say “no thank you”. I’d tried different pies, apple, pumpkin, blueberry,…

St. Patrick’s Day Bingo
St. Patty’s Day Printable Bingo Fun St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner and like most holidays, I try to find small ways to have some fun… without going overboard… that is. So, as a fun activity, I made a St. Patrick’s Day Bingo game to take to co-op for the kids play over…
Homemade Valentines for Valentine’s Day
Cute and Perfect for All Ages! As homeschoolers, we haven’t had the need to make valentines on a huge scale before. We’ve made a few, but we haven’t needed to make a classroom full. Last year (2017) we joined a homeschool co-op, where we meet once a week and do extra curricular classes… survival class,…
Our Canadian Homeschool Study
Learning About Canada Homeschool families study geography differently, some study by era (ancient, middle ages, and modern) and others study by a timeline, using inventions or other events to learn about places. We just picked a country and started studying… our first country was Canada. Canada is our friendly neighbor to the north and so…
How to Invest Your Pocket Change
Planning for Your Future Planning for your future can be a daunting task. Most people don’t know how to invest and depending on a person’s age, investing might be the farthest thing from your mind. I am not a money guru… I am in no way a money adviser… but I have found an awesome…
Indianapolis Children’s Museum – ScienceWorks
A Museum With Many Names I am sure most of my regular readers know that I homeschool my kids, though if you’ve just randomly found my page you wouldn’t know that, and so to you… we homeschool. Part of our homeschooling experience involves our local children’s museum, which just happens to be the world’s largest,…

We have most of it together now and are waiting on Plexiglas. We haven’t had much luck with our Pool, through PayPal (a page people can…
