*Parent’s note- This book was read to the kids by myself and was a little above my children’s reading level, while I think Elijah and Emmy would have been able to navigate alot of it, the book level on a whole, was above them.

My opinion of this book is that it is a great book to spark some imagination! My children talked alot about the description of the magical things and places within the book, they liked the characters, and they really enjoyed the time we spent reading this together. I personally was surprised by this book, I found myself wondering what would happen next and I looked forward to the journey. I will say that some of the names were a mouthful, but in creating a completely different world, I guess that would be expected.

The meeting of Jorie and her opposite left a little to be desired, but obviously left alot of room for the story to expand in additional books, which my kids have already asked about. Jorie was a strong girl and Rufus was very funny, my kids loved him! Overall, I would recommend this book to parents looking for bedtime books with more meat and imagination… parents you will probably enjoy it too! I also think this is a fun book for tween and teens that love fiction and mythical lands and creatures!

** I was sent a copy of this book to review, however, the above is our honest review!
