Great Pancake Recipe
Ok, so this one might not exactly be a recipe but it is a great way to pump up your favorite pancake recipe to a great pancake recipe!
As fall approaches I find myself navigating to different flavors like pumpkin or cinnamon and warm delicious foods are my go to, that is why when it starts getting cooler I change things up.
We make pancakes a lot, sometimes for dinner even, and we have our favorite recipe… I am guessing you do too. This isn’t a recipe to replace it… it’s a couple tips to upgrade it.
Let’s Get Started…
The first step is to add a teaspoon of cinnamon to each batch of pancakes… we make 3 batches so we add 1.5 teaspoons of cinnamon. This might seem like a simple change but when paired with the cream cheese frosting below… it’s magic! If you are a cinnamon lover, add more, however I would recommend starting here and adding more if you feel it’s not enough. Cinnamon can be overpowering, it’s better to know you need to add more the next time, than to ruin your entire meal this time.
The second step is to make some delicious cream cheese frosting. Start with about 1.5 ounces of cream cheese and mix in a teaspoon of powdered sugar and a 1/4 teaspoon of milk until the right consistency. If you like things a bit sweeter start with an ounce of cream cheese. This ratio will make enough for about 2 people to enjoy, so if you need more then just double or triple the recipe.
We like to stack our pancakes, so we spread a thin layer of frosting in between each pancake and put a nice layer on top with just a smidge of pure maple syrup… because what’s better than cinnamon pancakes with cream cheese frosting… well it’s the flavor of maple! These changes might seem simple but they really can kick up your pancakes and are perfect for fall.
Give it a try the next time you make pancakes and get a yummy start to your fall season!
Bet + Fam 🙂
