Best Stand Mixers – A Review

Not All Mixers Are Created Equally

Who loves cooking and baking? Do you own a stand mixer? If you don’t, have you ever wondered which brands are the best stand mixers or which one is the BEST?

Even if you are mixing up something as simple as a boxed cake, having a mixer comes in handy! Mixers, however, can be pricey and many people aren’t sure if the convenience is worth the price. I have a KitchenAid Ultra Power Plus, which I received as a wedding shower gift from my employer and his wife. When I received this gift, I understood the value but I didn’t cook, and my baking included putting the preformed cookie dough squares on a cookie sheet, however, 10 years later our family uses the mixer several times a week!

Here are a few of our favorite recipes that gives our mixer a workout, click them for the recipe…

I was very lucky to have gotten such a gift but if I hadn’t, I am sure I would have eventually made the purchase. Of course, I would have wondered, as many do… which mixer is the best stand mixer?

My KitchenAid

the best stand mixersAs I said I have a KitchenAid Ultra Power Plus stand mixer that is about 10 years old. I can tell you that while I LOVE this mixer, there are better mixers. While this one is pretty sufficient for my needs, it shakes and shimmies a bit making dough, however, we use it alot and it is still a great mixer after 10 years.

My mixer came with a hook, an egg beater, an edge beater, and a shield, which I accidentally melted on a burner while cooking one day…adulting is hard, but I’ve come a LONG way! Having the attachments come with it was an awesome surprise!

I honestly don’t even know if they make this mixer anymore, though there are a few still on Amazon, but it appears not many, my guess is they have moved on to newer models. Because of this mixer, I would probably stick with KitchenAid in the future, but knowing what is out there is important to making good decisions, especially when most mixers cost upwards of $200-$500!
